Brevity (brevedad) is a good quality for writers and speakers. Another word for the same is “conciseness” (concisión).

Here are some great and important sentences on this subject.

  • “Brevity is the soul of wit” (lo bueno si breve dos veces bueno). Wit = ingenio o inteligencia. This sentence comes from Shakepeare´s play Hamlet.
  • “It is my ambition to write in 10 sentences what others say in a book”. Who said this? Nietzsche, the philospher.
