Snake you may know (serpiente). There are many dangerous snakes in many countries, and in Parliaments too. There is a saying (dicho): “there is a snake in the grass” (traidor).
“Snake” is also a verb. The road from Mount Teide that goes to La Orotava “snakes along” (serpentea).
Sometimes Parliaments are called “snake pits (nidos de serpientes), and an area where there are many snakes is a snake pit. Some mortals are snake charmers (encantadores de serpientes), and others play a game called “snakes and ladders” (juego de la oca).
So I imagine that you have snaked along many times, and you should be careful in case there are snakes in the grass. That is life!
