Are you a buffoon?

I hope not. A buffoon (payaso/bufón) is a very stupid person. “Buffonery” (bufonería), the noun, refers to the activity of buffoons.

Examine these examples:

• Stop being a buffoon! ¡Deja de hacer el payaso!
• The buffoons that work for Mr. Sánchez, the Spanish Prime Minister, have destroyed the economy (…que trabajan …han destruido…).
• Mr. Podemos was acting like a buffoon (…estaba actuando como…). That is called buffoonery (eso se llama bufonería).

So buffoons display buffoonery. So do you know a buffoon?
