Do you opine?

To opine (opinar) is a way to express an opinion or belief. Many English mortals (mortales) will say “I think that “and they could also say “I opine that… (opino que…).

If you plan to take the Cambridge English exams (B1, B2, C1, C2) then using different words to express an opinion will get you higher marks.

So, in the exams use I think, I opine, I posit (postulo que) that…

Here are some examples for your cerebal hemisphere (hemisferio cerebral) to contemplate:

  • Some mortals have opined (han opinado) that I am a caveman (un hombre de la caverna).
  • Opine is a word not often used (una palabra que no se usa con frecuencia) by many English speakers. Andrew opines that the word should be used more often, to make the language more interesting.
